Floor Maintenance

Your beautiful hardwood floor is a natural product that will give you years of pleasure with a minimum of effort. It is durable and hard-wearing and will provide a cleaner air environment for your family than traditional floor coverings.

Here are some helpful tips on getting the most from your investment:

  • Place mats or rugs at doorways and entrances to reduce the amount of dirt, grit and sand on your new floor.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth to remove any surface dust or grit - it is not advisable to wet-mop your floor.
  • Wipe up food and other spills immediately.
  • Stubborn stains can be cleaned using a mild soap-based cleaner which can be applied by means of a damp cloth or hand-held sprayer.
  • Use plastic or felt pads under table legs, chairs and other furniture to prevent scuffing and scratching.
  • When the floor surface begins to show signs of wear, a light sanding and varnishing will restore it to its new condition.
