8 Painted Houses You Need Sunglasses to Look at

One thing we noticed when putting these beauties together was the international feel. Bright painted homes are clearly popular worldwide. From towns in Cork to the Caribbean we all love a brightly coloured home! Check out the list below with sunglasses at the ready!

1. Eyeries, West Cork

First up are these lovely painted homes in Eyeries, West Cork.  This enchanting little town was also the location of where the film The Purple Taxi starring Fred Astaire was filmed in 1977!

2. The Painted Ladies, San Francisco

Less bright and more beautiful we couldn’t leave them out! These fab homes nicknamed “the painted ladies” are located in Haight Ashbury in San Francisco.

3. Chefchaouen, Morocco

Chefchaouen is a small city in Northwest Morocco.  It’s well known for its bright baby blue washed buildings.

4. Burano, Venice

Famed for being one of the best day trips outside of Venice, Burano is beautifully bright. To accompany the bright buildings there are also some wonderful shops.

5. St Johns, Newfoundland

St Johns in Newfoundland’s bright building colors set it apart from most other Canadian Cities. It’s often said to be more similar to San Francisco due to its bright buildings, steep hills and mazy streets.

6. Cerro San Cristobal, Lima, Peru

Nestled in this 409-meter hill are some of the most charming painted homes.  One of the best viewpoints of the town is at the top of the hill.

7. Willemstad, Netherlands Antilles

These eye-catching houses are located in the Caribbean. They provide a lovely backdrop for the quaint city of Willemstad.

8. Guanajuato City

Located in central Mexico, Guanajuato City buildings are almost as bright as the sun that shines on it. Another notable attraction in the city is the Plaza de le Paz. Here you’ll find more bright buildings and a lovely garden.
